About
I'm a game designer, artist and composer. I was Lead Designer on Sonic Mania (SEGA, 2017), where I led a team of level designers and designed the special stages. PagodaWest Games ran its development, working with Christian Whitehead, the game's lead developer and lead programmer, and Headcannon. It came out on Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Sonic Mania Plus followed in 2018.
In 2011 I moved to Portland from Nebraska and co-founded PagodaWest Games with Tom Fry. We had worked together on the Sonic 2 HD fan project, where I did level and sprite art. Working between Portland and London, the studio shipped Major Magnet, Circle Frenzy, SnapPals, Nom Chops, Mr. Buzz and Spirit Rush. Major Magnet, its first, was an App Store Editor's Choice. As co-founder and game design director I handled design, physics and level layouts with a small team, and ran the business side in the early years.
Before games I trained in computer science and built flight-simulator cockpits for a museum. Entroversal is my studio, founded in Portland in 2017. It is making a rhythm rail shooter of the same name.
I work in Unity and Godot; Photoshop, Illustrator and Blender; and Reaper and FMOD for sound.
